Team Compassion is the humanitarian arm of Pillars Mosque, dedicated to uplifting our neighbors through acts of service and meaningful partnerships. Throughout the year, our volunteers have come together to provide food, care, and comfort to those in need — both within our local Charlotte community and beyond. Guided by the prophetic model of mercy and compassion, Team Compassion turns faith into action through consistent service, collaboration, and kindness.
Meet Our Team Compassion Lead
Shabana Nayab, the Team Compassion Lead, brings a deep passion for community service and extensive volunteer experience to Pillars Mosque.
She coordinates outreach initiatives, organizes volunteer teams, and builds partnerships with local organizations such as NourishUp, Roof Above, and Welcome Home Charlotte.
Her leadership ensures that every initiative reflects the Islamic values of empathy, sincerity, and service to humanity.

Monthly Hot Breakfast at Roof Above
Every month, our volunteers sponsor, cook, serve, and clean up after a hearty breakfast for residents of the men’s shelter — bringing warmth and dignity to our neighbors in need.Ramadan Dinner Sponsorships
During Ramadan, Team Compassion extended its support by sponsoring evening dinners at Roof Above, complementing the monthly breakfast program.Snack Pack Initiatives
